Episode 29 Show Notes

Episode 29 Can be found here and here.

Points are easier:

–          I attended and manned a stall at the Old Bus Depot Markets Celebration of Wool day on behalf of the Queanbeyan Chapter of the NSW Knitters’ Guild.

–          I bought much lovely fibre from Wooldancer and Waratah Fibres

–          I bought gorgeous project bags from Michelle of Buttontreelane (see image above)

–          I bought a niddy-noddy and admired a swift from a stall, and then lost the business card. This is the swift. I will share his details when I find the card…

–          I finished my Marion cardigan.

It is not without its problems (look at those baggy upper arms), but it is done, which meant…

–          I’ve been working on my Coda Pullover in Madtosh Tosh dk (coquette). I’ve finished the body and have moved on to the “shrug”. Highly recommend the pattern!

–          I’ve been quilting my Lucky Quilt, and hyperventilating all the while

–          I also made ascrappy quilt-as-you-go cushion to match the Lucky Quilt

–  I started my Swoon quilt, and have made two blocks. All the pretty fabrics from here cX-YDkLdGroM7Xv2tfAGAAfFhjZukvpqAA5laPb55Gs

Some time ago I started the Dropped Diamonds Quilt from Hexa-Go-Go but forgot to mention it.

–          I’m spinning some yummy ombre yarn that may grow up to be a gift cowl

Peace out

Ms Spider xo

PS. And now I’m freakishly up-to-date with Show Notes! If it bother you a lot when I take ages, do consider following me on Instagram (you’ll need to send me a request, but that’s not hard). I tend to post things daily, in my squirrel-brained manner.

There were many purchases! Kaffe Fassets Museum Quilts is the only product I can link to, however.

Thursday I bound my quilt… using The Practical Guide to Patchwork as reference.

And Friday I finished it!

I also painted some pegboard to go behind my desk and store sewing tools. I used this as a reference.

Saturday I made a pouch to carry paper piecing patchwork around in. I used this tutorial. I’m not going to put up a picture because this is way too picture heavy already! Mine looks pretty much like the one in the tutorial.

A glorious week indeed!

Peace out,

Ms Spider xo

Episode 10 Show Notes

Back again after a brief hiatus! You can find episode 10 here and here.

I ponder the etiquette of online grammar and spelling pedantry.

I finish my Magrathea (with nearly a week spare for the KAL).

I finish the body of my Filtered Pullover, and had great fun dropping all the ladder stitches. Only the waistband and collar remain! Before all stitches have been unravelled (so short!).

Blocking to get a sense of the true length.

I’m crocheting some blanket squares for the NSW Knitter’s Guild bushfire appeal:

Relief organisers need large numbers of blankets over the next few days and weeks so any help the knitters and crocheters of the Guild can offer would be very gratefully received.

Please knit or crochet 25cm squares – no need to block or sew in ends (leave long ends for sewing up) – and let us know the yarn content ( so we can match wool with wool, acrylic with acrylic etc).

Send to
Knitters’ Guild NSW Inc
P O Box 460
Epping, NSW 2121

Or email PresidentATknittersguildnswDOTorgDOTau for further information or alternative drop-off points.

Our team of volunteers is standing by to sew these together.

I finish spinning my Darkened Skies merino.

I rave about my gorgeous new project sack from buttontree lane.

I went to the Alpaca Magic open day and purchased some gorgeous alpaca tops. Lookit! Baby alpaca!

This is the alpaca that was trying to run me over/cuddle me.

I discovered a long-forgotten WIPthe Pinnet/Pinnate cardigan by Amy Christoffers.

Should I suck it up and finish the sleeves before I move on to my Geodesic Cardigan?

Peace out

Ms Spider xo

Pity I don't wear vests!

BFL in “Hippie Heaven” from EGMTK.
